Suunto wristop computer voted Best of Fitness Gear for 2006
The US Health magazine has named the Suunto t6 as the Best of Fitness Gear in their second annual Best of Fitness Product Awards. The honor is the culmination of eight months of research to find the best fitness products for 2006 - an assessment that encompasses athletic equipment, apparel, "fuel," and gear. The selection process included rigorous testing by a panel of experts to weigh each product against competing brands. Built specifically for target heart rate training, the Suunto t6 was selected for its thorough and accurate measurements of seven specific parameters of cardio training, and its unique capability to enlist these measurements to gage overall fitness. The Suunto t6 is distinct from similar training systems in that it has the capability to track, calculate, organize, log, and upload an individual's training session numbers. Then, by utilizing the accompanying software, an athlete can interpret this data to achieve a deeper analysis of training sessions. The result is laboratory accurate information on physical stress, oxygen consumption and other physiological variables that pertain to training. "Most active Americans have no way to measure how effective their exercise is" says Lauren Zimmerman, Trade Marketing Manager, Suunto USA. "And the health benefits that come from effective exercise are the reason for the activity in the first place. The Suunto t6 makes it possible to ensure that your training program includes sufficient sessions that disturb the equilibrium of your body enough to achieve an improving effect," The Suunto t6 also includes extensive wristop capabilities such as an altimeter, barometer, and pressure sensor. Founded in 1936 with the world's first liquid-filled compass, Suunto is a leading designer and manufacture of precision sports instruments for diving, mountaineering, hiking, skiing, orienteering, sailing, training and golf. Prized for their design, accuracy and dependability, Suunto wristop computers combine the aesthetics and functionality of watches with sport-specific computers that help athletes at all levels analyze and improve performance. Headquartered in Vantaa, Finland, Suunto employs more than 500 people worldwide and distributes its products to over 70 countries. The company is a subsidiary of Helsinki-based Amer Sports Corporation. |
